FAQ

Do I have to order prints through KZO Photography?

Your package includes a print release, or you have an option to order prints through us at an additional fee.

What kind of gear do you use?

My go to camera body is the Nikon 850. I also always have a backup camera just incase of a malfunction. My go to lenses are my 50mm prime lens, 24mm-70mm lens, and 70mm-200mm. I use as much natural lighting as possible, however sometimes natural light is not available and therefore I use a flash unit if parents give permission.

What is a print release?

A print release is a signed document from KZO Photography which gives you permission to make unlimited prints at anytime and any photo lab of your choosing. This allows you budget the amount and sizes of prints you wish to have.

Can more digital images be added to my package than what is listed in the package details?

Absolutely! We can add additional retouched images to your package for an additional fee. Please let us know if you interested in doing so.

What does ‘all prices are subject to change’ mean?

The price listed on the package you chose is the price strictly for the items listed in the package. Prices are subject to change if the shooting location is more than 30 miles away from our home. Prices are also subject to change if you would like a customized set up, order additional shooting time, if you choose to order prints, photo albums, or keepsakes. Prices may also change due to extra costs to the photographer such as parking, admission fees, etc.

About Newborn Session:

1. Studio Temperature -The studio will be kept warm for baby's comfort. This means the studio may be too warm for comfort for you. Dress appropriately for the session, keeping in mind you will be in the studio for up to two hours.

2. Studio Lighting - The lighting used in the studio is a soft diffused studio light that mimics natural lighting, which allows for better quality images. I strive to produce the best quality images for my clients. I will use both natural, and artificial light sources to achieve this. A flash unit may also be used at your discretion.

3. Studio Noise - In order to replicate the environment your baby enjoyed while in your belly, the studio will have white noise, or baby lullabies playing at all times. It is important during these sessions to keep talking and noise to a minimum to prevent waking the baby.

4. White Glove Treatment - Newborn skin is very sensitive, in an effort to prevent startling, and over stimulation you will notice I wear gloves during the session.

5. Babies Run the Show - Keep in mind your baby will ultimately dictate how a session will proceed. If he or she is fussy, it is important not to react to it, and stress because the baby will pick up on this and will become more agitated. Simply sit calmly, and allow me to work with your baby. I have plenty of experience, and infinite patience, so know that everything will be fine. Please try not to hover over me as I am working, if you are breastfeeding, your newborn can smell you, this can stimulate them to want a feeding since they know their food source is close by.

6. Safety First - It is important for you to know that there is the utmost importance placed on the safety of your baby. Poses will never be forced nor will any unsafe poses be used in any manner during your shoot. The studio is completely sanitized after every session, and all linens used will be washed. I will not photograph your baby if I am sick and will reschedule with you as soon as practical.

7. What to Wear - This section pertains to other family members who will be posing with baby. Complement, don't match. The day of all white shirts and khaki pants are long past! We want colors that generally complement each other: so for instance, soft colors (light blue, gray, blush) or warm colors (brown, orange, burgundy.) Don't be afraid of patterns. Accessories are great too! Stay away from neon colors as they can create skin tone/color cast issues. Stay away from large logos and print as they can be distracting. They can work great in moderation. If you like bright white, settle for an ivory or off white. Also, plan for the weather. Nothing is worse than being miserably uncomfortable in a perfect outfit. If you’re planning an outdoor session in November, think about coats, gloves, and hats. In the summer, dress in layers that you can easily take off if you get too hot.

8. After the session - When the session is complete, I will need time to process the photographs, and make necessary edits in order to present you with the best images possible. It generally takes two weeks from the date of your session, please be patient.
